Here is a non-exhaustive list of my current, certifications along with a short description of each certification from the issuing company's website.
IRATA LVL 1
This is a rope access technician who is able to perform a specified range of rope access tasks under the supervision of a Level 3.
Wilderness First Responder - 80 HR
This is a comprehensive, professional level training program suitable for those who work in a `non-standard` environment, those who will be venturing into truly remote regions for an extended period of time with no additional help available to them, and for those who take on a leadership role in the back country. It is the “industry standard” for professional responders such as guides, ski patrol and specialized search and rescue teams.
Intermediate Tandem Moving Water Canoe Skills
The Intermediate Tandem Moving Water Canoeing is an intermediate level course that introduces paddlers to the use of helpful water features to make manoeuvres easier and more efficient.The focus of this course is on canoe stability, using water features, and paddling techniques for navigating Class II waters.
SPRAT LVL 1
These courses teach workers how to safely access structures using two-rope systems, as well as advanced techniques of structural progression and rescue.
White Water Rescue - Level 1 & 2

Increase your knowledge of the river environment to avoid hazards and work with the water, not against it
Practice techniques such as swimming, wading, and throwing ropes to move around the river, perform self-rescues, and rescue others
Learn knots, anchors, and rope systems for use in equipment recovery and transportation
Carry out effective rescues with limited resources when river running
Leadership Camping Skills
This course is an intermediate/advanced camping program for those leading groups of adults or children as a formal leader want to develop their camping leadership and group management skills.
BCCR Rescue Responder
Rescue Response Workshops of similar duration, or Seminars of greater length serve to build and maintain a cadre of competent and appropriately equipped personnel available on callout by agencies anywhere in either province to respond to a cave search or rescue emergency. Participants are introduced to the use of the Incident Command System (ICS), communications equipment and protocols, cave search methods, stretcher packaging and handling, and rescue rigging.
Ground Searcher GIS 100
Learn the search techniques used for wilderness SAR operations, as well as procedures for conducting urban searches and evidence searches. You will learn how to assist the first aid attendant in stabilizing and securing the subject for transport, how to maneuver a stretcher over rough terrain, and how to use basic rope assist techniques to move the stretcher over gentle slopes. Basic ties used in GSAR applications will be covered, along with the care and maintenance of ropes and associated equipment. You will also gain an awareness of how to protect clues and work with tracking teams and other resources used in SAR responses.
Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty
The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty program teaches you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers. You will learn how to identify stress, how to prevent accidents and be taught practical techniques to conduct rescues and provide emergency care. I also have completed my deep and night/ limited visibility specializations within SSI.
Ice Safety and Rescue (ISR)
Get ice safety training and certification. You’ll gain knowledge and learn how to assess ice conditions—so you can make good decisions and work safely on the ice surface. You’ll also get hands-on practice and experience with both self-rescue and rescuing others who fall through the ice.
